This Month’s feature is:

September 19, at 1:00 PM
Large Conference Room
We have TWO employment opportunities available at the Bell Memorial Public Library.

The first position is for a Custodian.  Custodians are THE people who make sure that the Library’s facilities and grounds are kept in the best condition possible.  The hours can vary (mornings or evenings).  Generally under 30 hours per week.

The second position we have available is for a person to work with older kids, teens and even adults.  The position is called Youth Services Coordinator, but that title really doesn’t do it justice.  The job entails introducing older kids and teens to not only reading, but also what the Library has for them.  Creating/scheduling programs, going to the Jr. High School for programs, selecting books and other materials of interest to teens and quite a bit more.  Generally just under 30 hours per week.

If YOU are interested in either of the above jobs, let our Library Director Stephen Boggs know.  You can contact him at the Library (574) 353-7234 or even better via e-mail:  sboggs@bell.lib.in.us

Proposals for remodeling project to be accepted
The Board of Trustees of the Bell Memorial Public Library would like to invite proposals from qualified entities for a very small remodeling project at the Bell Memorial Public Library in Mentone, Indiana.
The overall goal of the project is to update the current community room, called the Bell-X room, into a more usable space for use as a Young Adult library area.
The project will include, but is not necessarily limited to, the following:
Rework the existing fire suppression system (sprinkler heads) from facing up toward the current ceiling to pointing down and locating the heads into a new suspended ceiling.
Install a new suspended ceiling.
Install new light fixtures into the suspended ceiling
Rework the existing HVAC in the area. Room has no thermostat. Current rooftop unit serves approximately seven (7) areas and excess air is currently discharged into this area. Return air is direct to the rooftop unit. Return air ductwork will be required to be installed. Alternatives to this section of the plan is welcome.
Some painting/re-painting will be required.
More information, photos of the room and contractor qualifications will be forthcoming. For information regarding this project, please contact Stephen Boggs, Library Director at (574) 353-7234 or by e-mail at sboggs@bell.lib.in.us
