ASL Basic Sign Language Classes being offered at Bell Memorial Public Library!

In conjunction with Bell Memorial Library's Summer Reading Program, we will be offering a basic sign language class. The class will start on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in our large conference room and will continue for 6 weeks. The class will include the sign language alphabet, numbers, basic phrases and vocabulary, as well as an introduction to Deaf Culture. Pat Lancet will be teaching the class. Pat has 20 years of experience interpreting in both church and education settings. This class will be free to the public, but we do ask that you contact the Library to sign up in advance. There will be a limit of 15 people allowed to attend the class. Materials needed for the class will be presented to participants on the first day of class. Anyone interested in signing up for the class may call the Library at 574-893-3200.
